Arrive - Cusco

Cusco is a unique city, was the center of the Inca empire, where the cultural heritage merges with colonial architecture, creating an environment full of history and culture on every corner.
You will have the opportunity to visit the Imperial city of Cusco, World Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, you will visit the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral that preserves inside beautiful works of art and painting of the Cusco school of incredible value, you will continue to the Koricancha or “Temple of the Sun” still preserves inside walls that in the time of the Incas were covered with gold, then we will go to Sacsayhuamán one of the most amazing buildings in the world, we continue to the amphitheater of Kenko, and the water fountains in Tambomachay; as well as a panoramic view of the red fortress of Puca-Pucara.

Cusco - Secred Valley of the Inca - Cusco
We will start the trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas in the district of Urubamba, we will visit the town of Pisaq, where we will be able to visit the typical artisan fair, and appreciate the commercialization of products of the locals where you will have the opportunity to acquire a variety of products. Lunch included in a tourist restaurant.
Then we will continue along the banks of the Urubamba River enjoying beautiful landscapes towards the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, we will visit the Temple of the Sun, as well as the most interesting enclosures. On the way back to the city of Cusco, we will visit the town of Chincheros to be able to appreciate the weavers demonstrating their skills and explaining the weaving techniques.

Cusco - Machu Picchu - Cusco
At the agreed time, the transfer will be made to the Ollanta train station to start the trip to the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, we will have to board a tourist bus that will take us on a 30-minute trip to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We will start the guided tour by visiting the main enclosures of the urban and agricultural area according to the route of the selected type of ticket. At the end of the tour, we will have time to descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes for lunch. At the indicated time, we will board the return train.

Cusco - Manu
Very early departure from Cusco to head to our first stop, which will be in Chullpas de Ninamarca, ancient pre-Inca funerary towers attributed to the Lupaca culture, an Aymara cultural group that developed on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We will continue to Paucartambo, a charming colonial town with traditional streets, where we will also visit its interesting local museum. Our next stop is at the Acjanacco pass is the first checkpoint and park ranger station, when crossing this natural border, we enter the “Amazon Basin” from there begins a gradual descent towards the Cloud Forest and different ecosystems, this area is very rich in endemic species such as the Spectacled Bear and Andean cock of the Rock, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, lichens, etc. We will hike observing nature and then continue to our lodge.

Manu
We will start the excursion early in search of the Andean cock of the Rock, Peru’s national bird, famous for its striking courtship ritual in its natural habitat. After breakfast, we will continue the descent through dense and lush forests until we reach Pilcopata, and then we will go to the port of Atalaya, located on the banks of the Alto Madre de Dios River (600 m a.s.l.). From here, we will board a motorboat to start sailing along the river, where we will be able to observe a great diversity of birds such as herons, vultures and cormorants, as well as other animals typical of this Amazonian ecosystem, until we reach our Erika Private Reserve.
After lunch, we will visit Lake Machuwasi, where we will take a leisurely catamaran ride. During the navigation, we will have the opportunity to observe species such as the hoatzin, known as a prehistoric bird, as well as birds such as cardinals, herons and other species typical of the wetland. Also, during the walks along the nearby trails, we will be able to spot monkeys, capybaras and other species of local fauna.
At nightfall, we will take a night walk to discover the fascinating world of insects and amphibians that come to life in this ecosystem.
Overnight in Erika Lodge
Manu - Cusco
We will board our boat early in the morning to head to the Collpa, a wall of the Alto Madre de Dios River, where different species such as the blue-headed parrot, white-eyed parakeet and possibly the Maracano macaw, among others, come down every morning to extract clay. At the end of this daily activity, we return to our Erika lodge to pack and sail by boat to the Port of Atalaya, where the bus that will take us back awaits us. On the route we will have one last activity, a visit to the hummingbird garden Mirador Pico de Hoz, a self-sustainable environmental conservation center to observe and photograph a wide variety of hummingbirds and other birds such as toucans, king vultures, monkeys and hopefully a sloth. We have lunch en route, arriving in the city of Cusco in the afternoon.
